Just a few notes to get us through this next week.  We continue to work on Strong Lifts and move into Week #10 starting Tuesday, hang in there, you are doing well and making progress.  Stay on task, work on good form and if you need to reset drop back 20% and start again.

The Gym is Closed on Monday July 5th for the Holiday.  We will pick up where we left off on Tuesday.

We move into July and focus on abs and core work this month.  There will be lots of opportunities to try new variations and tax that mid section.  Expect some challenges.

We are doing away with the sign in sheet and going to strictly electronic check in.  If you haven’t done it yet, ask for help getting set up.

THE CANCER FUNDRAISER IS SATURDAY JULY 10 AT THE END OF THIS WEEK.  GET READY FOR SOME HEAVY DEADLIFTS, YOU CAN PRACTICE ON TUESDAY THIS WEEK. SEE YOU ALL THERE.

Salted Honey Strawberries with Coconut Whip

Once you start cutting refined sugar from your diet, fruit becomes the natural choice when you want something sweet. These sweet and salty strawberries make an excellent choice, and when topped with coconut cream, it is perfection.

Ingredients

Strawberries:

  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Coarse salt

Coconut Whip:

  • 1 cup coconut cream from a refrigerated can of coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Combine the sliced strawberries and honey in a bowl and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Whip the coconut cream and honey in mixing bowl until thick and creamy.
  3. To serve, top the berries with the coconut whip and a sprinkling of the coarse salt.
