Monday will be a scorcher so the evening classes will be modified for the heat. We will be open but with adjusted workouts to just get a good sweat and keep the intensity to a moderate level. As a general rule we will do this at 90 plus and anything over 100 is grounds for skipping the day and work on hydrating. Either way work on hydrating. Monday’s WOD will be Thrusters to find 1 rep max.

RELATIONSHIPS
Relationships are important to our well-being. Studies of Blue Zones, which hold centenarians in high percentage, show that having solid community relationships was one factor the groups had in common.
Other studies show that we thrive in our own world if we have 3 or 4 places to gather with others. It could be family, coworkers, friends or club members. For the early half of the 20th century it was home, work and church. As we have progressed 1 or 2 more gathering places have emerged. Humans are a social group and rely on each other for protection, support, success and acceptance. May be this is the reason we worry so much about what others think. We don’t want to be rejected from the community.
Having relationships within any of these groups has positive impact on us. It extends lifespan, lowers rates of anxiety and depression, provides higher self-esteem, show greater empathy, improves trust, creates cooperative relationships and gives a greater sense of purpose.
Other benefits include better listening and communication skills, learn respect, consistently make time for each other, recall details about each other’s lives, engage in healthy activities, work as a team, disciplined not to treat others poorly and avoid focusing on what you can get from others.
The gym also adds other benefits to building new relationships. You can act as a mentor for new people when they join, you can give and receive encouragement during workouts and nothing brings people together more than working hard (suffering) together to get a workout done.
