As I write this the CF Games is starting it’s final day of competition to see who is the Fittest In The World.  Although we won’t ever make it to that level we can still appreciate how incredibly fit these people are.  We have first hand experience in what it takes to do this kind of work. Although we may be at quite a scaled level we can still appreciate the skill, strength, hard work dedication and fortitude it takes to commit to that level of fitness.  Anyone for wall walks?  So if you get this early enough today try to watch the final workouts and know you are part of the grand scheme of this whole process.  It all comes together from the smallest gym to the final workouts clear across the world, we are all part of CrossFit and building better humans.

We have a new month so we will be weighing and measuring this week to see where we are on our progress.   We also have First Friday Fun at Snow Peak Brewing this Friday at 6:30.  Dinner, drinks and PR bragging.  Support the Brewery please, they helped support our fundraiser, too.  Also for August we will work on static holds of various types, paralleled, planks, ring holds, handstands, squat, etc.  Timed, weighted, reps etc in varied aspects. When did you last time a plank for max hold time?  Let’s see what you got?

I WILL UPDATE MY STATUS NEXT WEEK AS I HAVE A COUPLE DIFFERENT DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENTS THIS WEEK AND WILL NAIL DOWN MY SCHEDULE A LITTLE CLOSER.  I WILL ALSO BE QUARANTINING MYSELF MORE AS THE MONTH PROGRESSES SO I WILL BE MASKING UP AT SOME POINT AND ASK FOR SELF QUARANTINING IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS.  THANK YOU

Bacon Mushroom Thyme Burgers

Loaded with salty bacon and mushrooms, these burgers are so delicious, you won’t miss the bun!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • Sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the beef, egg, mushroom, thyme and bacon with a pinch of salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  2. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium heat. Grill the burgers until done to your liking and serve with your favorite toppings.
