Have you been tapping into your inner voice like we discussed last week?   Good.  Keep working on it to help you stay positive working through the moves and developing a better sense of how your inner voice helps you succeed.

Just to update everyone, I was diagnosed in 2020 with a B cell lymphoma tumor in my abdomen and have been treated for it with chemotherapy in 2020,  a bone marrow transplant in 2021, a T-cell therapy in 2o22 and this August I have another bone marrow transplant from a donor to see if we can put this to an end.  I will be moving to Portland and being treated at Oregon Health Science University OHSU.  I will leave August 17th and start high dose chemotherapy on Aug 18, 19, 20 and 21.  Then on Aug 22 I check into the hospital and have my bone marrow transplant.  The high dose chemo kills off my original immune system and gives the new marrow a chance to grow without competition.  I won’t have an immune system for a few days so I am isolated in the hospital for 2-4 weeks until my white blood cell counts are in normal range.  I will remain near the hospital for another 4-8 weeks after that with regular bloodwork and doctor visits.  I have to be within 20 miles of the hospital in case I have a rejection of the donor bone marrow which would be bad.

In the meantime while I am gone, Chelsea and Heidi will take over coaching classes.  The tentative schedule will start Aug 21 and looks like this:

Monday 5am 6am 4:30 pm 5:30 pm

Tuesday 5am 6 am 4:30 pm 5:30 pm

WEDNESDAY- NO CLASSES

Thursday 5am 6 am 4:30 pm 5:30 pm

Friday    5 am and 5:30 pm only

Saturday 8 am

They may have to adjust this on the run as necessary so be sure to communicate with them.

I have several of you moved over to auto deduct for membership payments.  If you want to be included in this get me a voided check and I will get you set up on it.  Its very easy and convenient for both of us.

If you have any questions on any of this don’t hesitate to ask me, Chelsea or Heidi.

Today’s article is from “The Daily Stoic” by Ryan Holiday

PROGRESS OF THE SOUL

“To what service is my soul committed?  Constantly ask yourself this and thoroughly examine yourself by seeing how you relate to that part called the ruling principle.  Whose soul do I have now?  Do I have that of a child, a youth….a tyrant, a pet, or a wild animal?”    Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 5.11

To what are you committed?  What cause, what mission, what purpose?  What are you doing?  And more important, why are you doing it?  How does what you do every day reflect, in some way, the values you claim to care about?  Are you acting in a way that’s consistent with some thing you value, or are you wandering, unmoored to anything other than your own ambition?

When you examine these questions, you might be uncomfortable with the answers.  That’s good.  That means you’ve taken the first step to correcting your behavior–to being better than those wild creatures Marcus mentions.  It also means you’re closer to discovering what your duty calls you to do in life.  And once you discover it, you’ve moved a little bit closer to fulfilling it.
